The south trail which leads from Längenfeld to Huben is very popular with cross-country skiers, as it leads over varied terrain. Shortly after starting at the Längenfeld sports center, you cross a small, dense forest. This clears up immediately, however, and the trail leads you past the Aqua Dome thermal baths in the direction of Astlehn / Runhof. There you cross the bridge and drive through snow-covered meadows, with a wonderful view of the Ötztal mountains, on to Huben. When you reach the southernmost point, the round takes a turn. The way back is past the soccer field to the Mühl district and on to Gottsgut. From Runhof, where the bridge was crossed again, the route now leads back along the Ötztaler Ache to the starting point.
Author’s recommendation
After beeing active with cross-country skiing, spend a few hours in the Aqua Dome thermal spa and relax.
