The Knappenweg Knights' Trail leading from Hochoetz to Ochsengarten is some 350 years old. It is located in the wonderful surroundings of Puchersee lake (2,002m). Miners used their hammers and tools to dig for copper pyrite, galena and pyrite. Today a small museum and a watermill are at the site of the former mine.
The route can be accessed at different points according to your stamina and physical shape. Trailheads are several villages at the entrance to the valley - Oetz, Ochsengarten, Mareil and Kühtai.
All tours will take you to high alpine areas, the home of Tirol's pine tree population.
